Dan DuVerneyAlexandra Plotz has been crowned Miss Illinois USA 2019. Alexandra was born and raised right here in the State of Illinois. While she loves Chicago and all it has to offer, her heart remains true to her hometown, Geneva. Geneva is a small town located on the Fox River, famous for its forest preserves, parks, bike patches, historic buildings and hometown events and festivals. All of which provided for an idealic place for Alexandra to grow up.
After graduating from Rosary High School, an all girls college preparatory school, Alexandra attended the University of Missouri where she received her Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Media Communications and a Multicultural Studies Certificate. She is a proud Tiger alumni!
Throughout her reign Alexandra hopes to advocate for heart health awareness, the silent and number one killer of women. She is the department head of a heart rate monitored interval training program at a corporate gym and personal trains clients outside of that position. Health and fitness has become a huge part of her life as heart disease and heart related illness runs in her family on her mother’s side. She hopes to prevent the deaths of women in other families so they do not have to suffer the unexpected loss of a grandmother, mother, wife, or sister as many before her have.
In her spare time, Alexandra loves to gym hop for new workout ideas, meal prep on the weekends, and blog. Alexandra also loves to run and has participated in numerous 5K races throughout her community, many of which have been for charitable causes including raising money for high school students who need scholarship aid, cancer fundraisers, mental health and suicide awareness. All proceeds from these races benefit local families in the area.
