Miss World First Runner Up and Mexico’s representative, Andrea Meza, has crowned Miss World Mexico 2018. The National Final took place on Saturday 5th May. The competition was challenging, with 32 contestants. There was a diverse range of specialist awards. Vanessa excelled in the competition, securing many points on winning both the Beauty With A Purpose and Challenge History of Mexico awards. Minerva Luna from Quintana Roo and Diana Romero from Sinaloa won first and second runner up, respectively.

Vanessa is 25 years old and from Mexico City. She has a degree in International Commerce from the University of Guanajuato and a diploma in human rights. Vanessa works with Nenemi school to give intercultural education to children from indigenous tribes. She also works as a model and won Mexico’s Next Top Model in 2014.
Mexico has had excellent placements at Miss World, winning first runner up in 2005, 2009 and 2017. In 2007, they won second runner up and in 1977, third runner up.
