Maria Vasilevich took over the Miss World Belarus reign from Ekaterina Savchuk, on Staurday 5th May. Maria is 20-years-old and from Minsk. She is a student of the Belarusian State Economic University and fluent in Belarusian and Russian. Her ambition is to become a TV presenter.
Maria was competing with 30 other finalists for the white gold, cubic zirkonia and topaz crown. She also received 12,000 Belarusian rubles ($6000 USD) prize money and a SUV Geely Atlas 4×4 car.
There were approximately 3,500 spectators at the 11th edition of the contest. The National Final is run by the Head of State and the President of Belarus attends. It is a culmination of three weeks of beneficial, hard work.
