Beauty With A Purpose has supported Manushi Chhillar’s program to bring greater awareness of the huge difficulties faced by young women as a result of not having access to feminine hygiene.
Manushi spoke on World Menstruation Day, 28th May, “As a young woman, aspiring to be a doctor, it is shocking to see the shame, discrimination and indignity suffered by more than 300 hundred million women in my country because of menstruation. World Menstruation Day is the opportunity to highlight this problem and promote the message that all women should have free or affordable access to Feminine Hygiene products.”
“We can change the world today” Manushi said, as she joined hundreds of women in a 3 km walk through the streets of Delhi, in searing temperatures of 45 degrees centigrade on 28th May! The walk was organised by sustainable pad manufacturers Aakar, in association with the Delhi Municipal Government.
Afterwards, a special event will take place at the Delhi Convention Centre.
